• In order to be “pre-prayered” for the service, there is a time of prayer at 9-30 in the front vestry: you are all welcome.
• Cards are in the narthex if you would like a prayer included in the Prayers of the People. On one side is an entry for a prayer request, the reverse side is an place for you to give a “Praise Report”, that is, if you have had answer to prayer - hearing answers is an encouragement to us all. They may be given to the Steward to bring forward at the Offering.

TODAY - We welcome our young people to the leading of today’s service and look forward to their contribution. 5-30pm the fifth of the Lent discussions. An evening meal will be provided
Wednesday March 28th 10-30am Lent discussion (repeat of Sunday) followed by Home Communion in the afternoon. 7-30pm - Choir practice, 7-30pm Evening UCAF will meet at the home of Heather Johnson, 2/5 Phillip St., North Dandenong, Margaret Tharle will be the guest speaker sharing about her recent rtrip to Japan. All are most welcome.
Sunday April 1st - Palm Sunday Communion - 5-30pm the last of the Christianity Explained sessions
Tuesday 3rd April - No Presbytery meeting because of Holy Week.
Wednesday 4th April - 10-30am the last of the Christianity Explained sessions. 1-oopm Interfaith Network - Dandenong offices

We have received an invitation for any of our people who wish to participate in the 3 hour Good Friday Devotions at St James Anhglican Church which will be led by Archbishop Philip Freier, between 12 noon and 3pm.

Today we acknowledge the sudden death last weekend of Joy Brown, a past member of the Church, choir member and long time resident of Dandenong. A private funeral was held during the week. We remember
her life with us and give thanks to God for all that was shared between us.

NUMURKAH
We need to start thinking about our Parish in Partnership visit for Nurmurkah’s visit to us later in the year. There is a Suggestion Box in the Narthex if you would like to put in any suggestions as to what this year’s program may entail. The visit is being planned for the end of September

PRAYER POINTS: Caring and Sharing with one another
Pray for:

• the KooWeeRup, Yannathan, Lang Lang congregations and their new appointed minister, Lay Pastor Dr. Des Parker.

• those who have undergone surgery in the last week offering thanks for the wisdom of doctors, the care of nurses and the support of loved ones. Pray also for those who are awaiting surgery - that they will experience peace from their pain and discomfort and the fruit of patience in their waiting

• ourselves, that God will look upon the parched ground, of both the land and our lives and give the gift of rain to refresh, renew and restore.

No “membership priveleges’ in churches visited by these Taswegians- Last year 10 Uniting Church leaders from Tasmania visited 11 different churches in Adelaide, Canberra and Geelong. The Presbytery of Tasmania’s Mission Facilitator, Alan Dutton, was a prime organiser. “Reinforced everywhere we went was the importance of ‘hospitality’ in churches. I don’t mean just having stewards on the door, or providing meeting rooms for rent,” said Alan. “Rather, in some churches there was very little sign of a ‘them and us’ mentality, or of ‘membership priveleges.’ In many places we visited the foyer was a large welcoming area - with comfortable chairs, small tables and easy access to coffee/ tea etc. People not part of the Sunday worshpiping community were clearly at home here.” Our offerings help fund this ministry as does including the Church in your Will, investing some money in UC Funds Management etc. Phone 9251 5405 or visit http:/victas.uca.org/mission for more details Thank you.
